Phuong Le Memo
Anonymous Person
Anonymous Person
Hi, it's Phuong Le. I'll share with you the meaning of this poem. Read below:
For an artist, being an anonymous person is truly a painful experience we go through. It's also a beautiful moment for us to express ourselves authentically without concern about anybody else.
Take yourself anywhere, whether it's a paradise or a gloomy prison. You want to feel something more alive than your current situation.
Your brain carries a hammer in this internet world, getting you through the feeling of hopelessness. You try something, then drop it. Then, you try something again, and drop it. Your brain is being trained to feel heavier than ever.
You're drifting further away day by day on the internet, not knowing where you will return. And if you cannot appear properly with your real identity on the internet, you appear as an anonymous person.
But, as an anonymous person, you found someone, didn't you?
It's so lonely in the modern world, and the world in our mind feels like we're sketching it. But there's one thing – we're so lonely because nobody truly understands us anymore.
Big data gives you a whole world just for you alone. It's the unique way you experience your own world. That's why it's so hard to find someone who can have the same experiences as you on the internet and truly understand you.
You notice yourself a bit, and then some snails sway on the stickers you just sent in a random comment. You're drifting further away day by day, not knowing when you will return.
And if you don't have your proper name and real identity on the internet, you appear as an anonymous person.
You want to find someone who can understand you as an anonymous person. But they never know it was you – so, does that count?
Okay, bye-bye. Love you!
