Something About Me

Something About Me

It's me, Phuong Le.

Whether you're here from my YouTube channel, fan page, one of my novels, or my personal profile, you’re the one I’ve been looking for over a long period of time. I don’t know where to start, but my name is Phuong Le.

I began my creative writing career in 2022 under the pen name Mai Ly. I share my perspectives on many aspects of life in my  and have received growing support and appreciation from people.

I’m also a poet who uploaded my very  first poem in 2019 on Facebook and other poetry websites and forums. After that, people began following me and asked for more poetry.

In July 2022, I opened the page "Mai Ly - Viết Cho Những Tâm Hồn Cô Độc" to share everything I wrote without limitations. Novels, poetry, and newsletters are the three main categories on my page.

Afterward, I began working with a team, so I changed the name to "Writing For Your Loneliness," which now has over 2k followers.

In my 20s, I needed money to support my page daily and had the ambition to profit from the value I added to the marketplace.

Then, an editor knocked on my door and offered me a deal to sell my copyright to the company in exchange for money. Naive as I was at the time, I signed the contract.

After that, I worked tirelessly to meet the MAB of 50k words per month so I could receive a bonus.

I officially became an employee for my own novel, Sói Trắng Và Em. Again, things didn't turn out as I’d hoped when the company decided not to pay for Vietnamese novels any longer.

I struggled because I had already left other career paths to follow this one.

I decided to find another company with a similar model, and I discovered they only accepted English novels.

I studied day and night in my room to learn how to write in English, even though I couldn’t speak it at the time.

It took me a year to write the first draft of my book, My Life, My Choice. Finally, I got a contract, but it didn’t include the same bonus as before. Stuck in an employee mindset, I felt lost.

I left my room, moved from my village to the city, and got a job. I first applied for a sales position at a gym but quit after a week.

After that, I worked as a cashier and was fired after a month. During those jobs, I kept writing poems on my page to stay on track.

In my darkest and most anxious times, I opened a page called "Inuyasha Fan Club VN," which now has over 1k followers.

In 2023, I published two poetry books, I Don’t Believe My Heart and Is Loneliness, It, Not Real?, on Amazon, but they were indie books that lacked investment.

After that, I opened an Etsy shop to sell my digital poetry wall art, but it only made a few sales. I also published a book called I Stole the Don's Heart on a novel app.

To pay my bills, I worked as an acquisition editor (affiliate marketing) for novel apps through my Facebook profile.

After working for three months, I left my mom's house and began living independently in a room near the sea.

Though I initially did it for money, I continued writing newsletters about writing knowledge on my wall, and people loved it.

In April 2024, I experienced burnout from the acquisition editor job as my DMs were constantly flooded, and I lost track of who I truly was.

I opened my YouTube channel, Phuong Le Memo, to figure out who I am and what type of art I want to create.

And now, I open this shop, to offer all my creative arts to the world.
