Scam Story

Scam Story

When I was very young, in secondary school, the online game was rising in my world. Some boys like borrowers, pretending to return things—only to steal them. It wasn't called a scam back then.

But later on, a couple of times, when trading moved to social media, people started using the word "scam" for the same act of theft like that.

By definition, a scam is taking advantage of information.

And back then, there was a trade I made for big money (as a kid).

Then my brother came to me, freaking out, trying to save me, telling me I was going to get scammed. I didn’t understand it at the time. Why does he freak out like that? But his panic got to me. After hearing it, I started to doubt—but the doubt didn’t make sense before hearing that.

In that trade, I found a middleman, someone with a name, a trustworthy person with testimonials. He verified it for me, just a few simple questions. The trade was smooth, and now it feels like a real estate deal in my memories.

Once I had the information, I made another trade, and I knew the importance of a middleman. I created flow and handled things better. The scam wasn't happening.

Maybe because I got scammed before, I was calm. And my brother is even a little younger than me, like 5 years, so the age gap and experience that he doesn't know made that emotional reaction.

I had seen scams before and got scammed for a lot of money when I was younger before, so I was kind of over it. So that’s the hilarious part. I don't even remember that till now, linking the dots. From that, I remembered I probably was good at trading and kind of had some blueprint of sold things out.
