How Ads Affect Your Mental Health
Today I have my wandering on the social media as usual. And I notice that 2 posts I read, I got one ads.
What does that mean?
I know that the price I pay for using social media for free is ads, but it’s too much.
You know, in the long term, it’ll make it hard to see the bigger picture, and affect your emotions very deeply.
Because the ads are written to trigger your emotions, even whether you feel it or not, it draws your attention, any of that.
At first, it was bearable, but it becomes more and more annoying, decreases your creativity and critical thinking, and swallows your time.
I know ads are good, they help companies introduce their products to solve your problems.
But living in a ton of them every day is a bad idea.
So, I’ve decided to have my detox day, where I don’t go on the internet at all. Even I write this letter in my notebook, and post it later.
Detox days are necessary, especially in the information tech age like this.
Anxiety, panic attacks, overthinking will be decreased if we have our awareness of the information we consume, just like food.
And I believe I’m Phương Le, the one who has created nice healthy content for people all over the world, who know me or not.
Yes, we need ads, but it’s like the ash and dust on the street. It’s now the new feeds. I’ve used FB since 2013, I thought this is my home. But somehow, it becomes a street with "traffic" that they use the words to describe us, people going by.
I love marketing, and I also use it to introduce my products and services to people.
But somehow it became noisy, so I just want to say that stay aware when you use it, not on autopilot, scrolling and scrolling without noticing what you consume, what you put into your mind and body.
Okay, I love you.
